The Open House Prague festival has become an established architectural celebration, where you can explore the hidden treasures of the metropolis free of charge. Open House Prague 2025 takes place from 12 to 18 May and invites you to experience the city differently — openly.
Open House is the largest architectural event in the world. Through guided tours of normally inaccessible buildings and spaces, it allows visitors to experience architecture directly and gain a deeper understanding of it in various contexts.
The eleventh edition of the Open House Prague festival will take place from 12 to 18 May. The main weekend, during which 125 normally inaccessible buildings throughout the city will be open to the public free of charge, will be held on 17 and 18 May. Only once a year do you have the chance to look behind the façades of the places you pass every day — from majestic palaces and historic villas to modern office buildings, industrial complexes, railway stations and technical facilities. These are an integral part of the cityscape, yet their stories often remain hidden.
This year’s motto is ‘Heritage of the past, challenges of the future’. The festival encourages visitors to reflect on what we leave behind in urban spaces and how architecture reflects both our times and our visions for the future.
In addition to the guided tours, the festival week also offers a rich accompanying programme. From Monday 12 May, you can look forward to lectures, exhibitions, further guided tours and discussions with experts in architecture and urban planning. There are also special routes for children, older people, the visually or hearing impaired, and foreigners living in Prague.
Access to all buildings is free of charge and without prior registration. The festival’s main information centre is located on the Hybernská campus. The full programme and list of open buildings can be found on the Open House Prague 2025 website.
The Open House Prague festival is an invitation to discover, to be curious and to pause for a moment. It offers a unique opportunity to get to know Prague differently — through the places we often pass unnoticed and the stories behind the walls.
Information about the programme and current activities in the open buildings can be found in the festival app, which is available for Android and iOS. You can use the app to plan your weekend route, book tickets for accompanying events with limited capacity, and share your experiences with other visitors.
Most buildings and rooms are open from 10 am to 6 pm on both weekend days, though there are exceptions. Exact opening times and further information, for example on accessibility, can be found at www.openhousepraha.cz.
