American Airlines to Connect Prague with Philadelphia Next Summer

The direct connection to Philadelphia will provide passengers with swift access to one of American Airlines’ main hubs on the East Coast of the United States

American Airlines is returning to Prague: from May 2026, the US carrier will once again offer a direct connection between the Czech capital and Philadelphia. The seasonal long-haul route will operate daily.

Václav Havel Airport Prague is set to expand its long-haul flight offering to North America. American Airlines will launch a direct service between Prague and Philadelphia next year. The seasonal route will operate daily from 21 May to 5 October 2026. The airline will deploy its Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on the route.

“Operating a direct service between Prague and Philadelphia has been one of our key priorities. We are therefore delighted with our successful partnership with American Airlines – made possible thanks to coordinated support and cooperation with our partners. This route marks a milestone in our strategy to develop long-haul flights and strengthen direct connections between the Czech Republic and North America. We firmly believe the route will prove successful and beneficial for both Czech passengers and inbound tourists and business travellers. We greatly appreciate our collaboration with American Airlines and look forward to the launch of this direct service,” said Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Prague Airport Board of Directors.

The direct connection to Philadelphia will provide passengers with swift access to one of American Airlines’ main hubs on the East Coast of the United States, along with convenient onward connections to over 100 destinations across North America. The outbound flight from Philadelphia International Airport is scheduled to depart at 6:40 p.m. local time, arriving in Prague at 8:45 a.m. the following day. The return flight will depart Prague at 11:00 a.m., landing in Philadelphia at 2:00 p.m. local time. Tickets will be available on the airline’s website in the coming days.

“Customer demand for flights to culturally rich destinations continues to grow. We are increasingly seeing travellers drawn to cities where they can immerse themselves in history and culture like never before,” said José A. Freig, Vice President – International and Inflight Dining Operations. “With this route, our customers in the Czech Republic will also gain access to one of our fastest-growing U.S. hubs in Philadelphia, from which they can explore over 100 destinations in the United States and beyond.”

American Airlines operates thousands of flights daily to more than 350 destinations in over 60 countries. The airline is a founding member of the oneworld alliance, whose members serve more than 900 destinations worldwide.
