Škoda unveiled the brand-new Vision O design study in Munich on Monday

On Monday in Munich, Škoda Auto presented the brand-new Vision O design study, showcasing the successor to the Octavia and the future of estate cars. With an innovative interior, sustainable materials and AI-driven features, the concept vehicle sets new standards for modern car design.

Just shortly after the presentation of the new all-electric show car Epiq, Škoda Auto proudly unveiled the brand-new Vision O design study on Monday – a groundbreaking concept vehicle that redefines the future of estate cars. The Vision O represents a decisive step forward in the development of Škoda’s Modern Solid design language, sustainability goals, interior architecture and customer-focused innovations.

“At Škoda, our commitment to our customers, who have trusted us as market leaders in the estate segment since 2016, drives us to bring the Vision O to life: a blend of innovative design, autonomous driving features and an intuitive AI assistant,” said Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Škoda Auto, at the presentation of the design study in Munich.

As the market leader in the European estate segment, driven by the success of the Octavia and Superb Combi, Škoda presented the future vision of its long-standing estate tradition, incorporating the next generation of its Modern Solid design language. The Vision O is an example of Škoda’s customer-oriented approach to car design and has been developed entirely from the perspective of the customer. The design is bold, authentic and practical, enhancing the user experience through intelligent AI solutions, clever features and a functional interior.

With a completely redesigned interior, the Vision O offers a minimalist design and a holistic, intuitive driving experience: a new Horizon display for driver and passenger, bio-adaptive lighting, 650 litres of boot space (over 1,700 litres with the seats folded) and an AI-driven personal assistant.

    A Holistic Approach to Sustainability

The name “Vision O” derives from the concept of the circular economy and represents the sustainable design, production, use and eventual recycling of the vehicle, minimising environmental impact throughout its lifecycle. The Vision O also demonstrates how circular materials, such as plant-based products, can be used without compromising on quality or aesthetics. Škoda Auto considers the full lifecycle of materials, employing waste-free production methods and the reuse of by-products, which are recycled and repurposed.

Škoda Leading the Estate Segment in Europe

Škoda Auto has a long and successful history in the estate segment. With the Vision O concept vehicle, the Mladá Boleslav-based manufacturer demonstrates its intention to continue this tradition. Thanks to the success of the Octavia Combi and the Superb Combi, Škoda Auto has been the leader in the European estate segment since 2016. With three million Octavia Combis sold since 1998 across four generations, the estate version has significantly contributed to the global success of the model line.
