Moody’s has once again affirmed the credit rating of Prague Airport at Aa3 with a stable outlook. The rating agency thereby underlines the strong financial position and the continuous growth of the largest airport in the Czech Republic.
Prague Airport has once again demonstrated its strong financial position and solid growth: the renowned rating agency Moody’s has confirmed the airport’s credit rating at Aa3 with a stable outlook. The positive assessment reflects not only low debt levels and high operational revenues but also the ongoing positive development of tourism and continued growth in passenger numbers.
“I am pleased that the company has been able to achieve its strategic goals in the long term while maintaining a very strong financial position. The confirmation of the Aa3 rating and the improvement in the BCA (Baseline Credit Assessment) demonstrate that we are on the right path and enjoy the confidence not only of our partners but also of internationally respected institutions,” stated Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Board of Prague Airport.
Marek Mastník, Board Member responsible for Finance, added: “This positive rating confirms our long-term financial stability and responsible approach to business activities. We are pleased that Moody’s recognises our ability to implement major investment projects effectively. Despite substantial investments planned for the coming years, we have a solid foundation that allows us to carry out these projects without compromising our financial stability.”
Particularly noteworthy is the improvement of the main component of the credit rating, the so-called BCA (Baseline Credit Assessment), from a1 to aa3. This rating is among the highest for assessed airports and ensures that Prague Airport maintains a high rating even if the rating of the Czech Republic, as owner of the airport, were to be downgraded.
The Aa3 rating confirms the strong position of Letiště Praha a.s. as operator of the airport and the Czech Republic’s key international hub. It also demonstrates that the airport offers competitive, fee-based services and, thanks to its solid financial profile, has sufficient scope to successfully implement its long-term investment plan.
