The ice rink on Wenceslas Square will once again bring winter atmosphere to the heart of the capital this year. From 1 December, visitors can take to the ice right in the middle of the city. Admission is free for residents of Prague 1.
For the third year running, the winter atmosphere in the centre of the capital is enhanced by an ice rink on Wenceslas Square. From 1 December, visitors can go ice skating in the very heart of the city. The attraction will remain open until mid-February. Entry is free for residents and schools from Prague 1. The opening will feature performances and the chance to win tickets to the Figure Skating World Championships in March 2026 in Prague.
The public ice rink near Jindřišská Street is open daily from 9 am to 10 pm. The 30-by-12-metre ice surface includes, in addition to the skating area itself, a snack stand, a skate rental service, and a small market with original gifts created by local designers.

“Ice skating is traditionally one of the most popular winter activities among the people of Prague. I am therefore very pleased that the city is once again offering the opportunity to skate right in the centre. In doing so, we not only enrich the Christmas market on Wenceslas Square but also provide an attractive option for anyone wishing to drop by after work or school,” says Jan Wolf, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Prague City Tourism.
The ceremonial opening will take place on 1 December at 5 pm. The programme will include, among other things, a figure skating show by the SKK Sparta Praha club and a draw for tickets to the Figure Skating World Championships, which will be held in Prague in March next year.
“We are looking forward to a festive opening. In addition to the residents of Prague 1, holders of the Prague Visitor Pass also have free entry,” adds František Cipro, Chairman of the Board of Prague City Tourism.
