With the start of Advent, castles and châteaux across the Czech Republic transform into festive settings. Visitors can enjoy a charming mix of tradition, history and vibrant Christmas customs.
When Advent spirit meets history, a unique magic is created: this is exactly what Hradozámecký Advent 2025 aims for, with a total of 53 monuments managed by the National Heritage Institute (Národní památkový ústav) participating this year. Festively decorated castles and châteaux open their doors, showcase Christmas traditions, enliven their courtyards with markets, and fill their historic interiors with music, theatre and the aroma of traditional dishes.
The Christmas castle enchantment runs throughout Advent; many monuments welcome visitors even on Christmas Eve, during the Christmas holidays, on the last day of the year and after New Year.
Christmas Markets, Festively Decorated Trees and Guided Tours
Guests can look forward to richly decorated courtyards. Guided tours are often complemented with stories about local customs and traditions. Exclusive evening tours also promise a particularly special atmosphere. The programme is further enriched with nativity exhibitions and Christmas concerts.
