HC Kometa Brno are Czech Ice Hockey Champions 2024/2025

Dynamo Pardubice end the season for the third consecutive time with a defeat in the decisive seventh game

By PragueDaily

HC Kometa Brno are the Czech ice hockey champions for the 2024/2025 season, winning the decisive seventh game of the final series 3–0 and returning to the Extraliga throne after seven years.

Kometa won the decisive duel in the best-of-seven series against Pardubice — just as they had done in the semi-final against fellow favourites Sparta Prague. The Brno team have thus secured their place in the Champions Hockey League, in which the two best teams of the regular season, Sparta and Hradec Králové, will also represent Czech ice hockey.

Dynamo Pardubice ended the season for the third consecutive time with a defeat in the decisive seventh game. After two years of bronze, this time it was silver for coach Miloslav Hořava’s team. Last year, Pardubice also lost the seventh game in front of their home crowd.

In addition to the T. G. Masaryk Cup and the gold medals, the new champions received a bonus of CZK 1.5 million from Tipsport as the general partner of the competition, while Pardubice were awarded CZK 1 million. The money is intended for the further development of ice hockey in both clubs.
