    This weekend, Prague will once again become the mecca of international speedway racing. On Friday 30 and Saturday 31 May 2025, the world’s best riders – and those aspiring to join their ranks – will compete at the historic Markéta Stadium.

    The action kicks off on Friday 30 May with SGP3, the world championship for junior speedway riders up to 250cc. This junior category is seen as a springboard into the top tier of speedway racing. Young talents from around the world will demonstrate their skills and compete not only for trophies but also for their sporting future. Those who impress here could soon find themselves on the main stage. For spectators, it’s a unique opportunity to witness future stars early in their careers.

    On Saturday 31 May, the main event follows: the FIM Speedway Grand Prix of the Czech Republic 2025 – the 31st edition of this prestigious racing series in Prague. The event is a cornerstone of the world championship calendar and has been hugely popular with both riders and fans for decades. No other venue boasts such a long and uninterrupted history in the Speedway Grand Prix as Prague’s Markéta Arena, which has hosted the event every year since 1997.

    This year, once again, everything that makes a fan’s heart race will be on offer: in addition to the qualifying heats starting at 2 p.m., the first of a total of 23 thrilling races will begin at 7 p.m. At the same time, the popular FIM Speedway Fanzone will open – an experience area right next to the main grandstand, set up in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Sports and other partners. Here, visitors can enjoy interactive attractions, autograph sessions and a close-up motorsport atmosphere – perfect for families, motorsport fans, and anyone wanting to experience the excitement of speedway first-hand.
