    Den Kozla 2025: A Day Full of Tradition, Enjoyment and Good Vibes

    The legendary Velkopopovický Kozel festival takes place on the first Saturday in June – a must for all beer fans and connoisseurs

    On the first weekend of June 2025, everything in Velké Popovice will once again revolve around the legendary Kozel beer. At the traditional ‘Kozel Day’, beer fans can expect freshly tapped delicacies, regional specialities and a varied programme for young and old.

    On 7 June 2025, it’s time to head to Velké Popovice for the traditional ‘Kozel Day’! If you love freshly tapped Kozel beer and hearty regional specialities, don’t miss this festival. The best restaurateurs in the area have come up with something special for the day and will ensure there is no shortage of food and drink.

    However, the festival offers much more than just beer enjoyment. Visitors can expect a colourful programme packed with numerous activities. Anyone who has always wanted to learn how to tap the perfect Kozel will have the opportunity here: the traditional tapping school makes the day an experience for beer lovers. There will also be team competitions and an exclusive tour of the Velkopopovický brewery, which is celebrating the 30th anniversary of ‘Den Kozla’ this year.

    New merchandise will also be available for all Kozel fans. If you need a break from the hustle and bustle, you can make yourself comfortable in cosy relaxation areas and unwind to live music.

    The festival promises musical highlights: the gates open at 11 a.m., with performances by Arzzen, Poletíme? and Elán Revival, among others. The grand finale will be a concert by Bára Poláková in the evening.

    Getting there is especially convenient thanks to the specially organised ‘Kozel Express’ from Prague. The train departs from the Prague Main Railway Station at 10:05 a.m. and takes guests to the festival grounds in comfort. Tickets are also available for the return journey at 9:00 p.m. In addition, trains and shuttle buses will run between Strančice and Velké Popovice every 20 minutes throughout the event.

    Admission costs CZK 100 for persons aged 15 and over; children and young people under 15 are admitted free of charge.
