Iron Maiden and the Elektrárna Brewery Unveil Trooper Saturn – A Lager for Local Fans of the British Rock Band. Fans from around the world enjoyed the Czech edition of the rock-inspired lager, last week in Prague at Eddie’s Dive Bar & Fan Zone. Now, local supporters can get their hands on the 500 ml can via Rohlik.cz.
British heavy metal band Iron Maiden, who performed in Prague last week, and the Pilsen-based Elektrárna brewery have teamed up to brew the new Trooper Saturn lager for Czech fans. This follows the original English beer Trooper, launched twelve years ago in collaboration with the British company Robinsons. Since then, Iron Maiden’s Trooper beer series has continued to develop worldwide thanks to partnerships with carefully selected, renowned breweries that share the same values of quality, innovation and creativity.
These qualities have shaped the band and their music over the past fifty years. There are currently 30 versions of Trooper beer available, produced in collaboration with various brewery partners in the United Kingdom, Brazil, Sweden, Germany, Spain, Australia and the United States. Bruce Dickinson had long sought a partner in the Czech Republic, known worldwide for its exceptional brewing heritage and the production of some of the highest quality and best-known beers in the world.
As with all other Trooper beers, Bruce Dickinson, singer and frontman of Iron Maiden, was instrumental in selecting the style, recipe and flavour profile. “I am delighted to have been able to work with the Elektrárna brewery. As you would expect given the great brewing tradition in the Czech Republic, the dedication of the brewery’s fantastic team and the use of Saturn hops give this beer an extra dimension that makes it something very special and a unique product within the Trooper range. It is an absolutely exceptional beer, and I am sure you will love it as much as I do,” says Bruce Dickinson.
Trooper Saturn is an aromatic Czech lager brewed using the unique Saturn hop, grown exclusively in the Žatec region.
The labels on the cans and packaging of Trooper Saturn, with their typically striking motifs, feature a version of Eddie from the album Somewhere In Time. Bruce Dickinson was also involved in this design, and the result fits perfectly with the expression ‘Saturn’: it’s not just about the name of the hops used, but also the visual connection with the warrior from the depths of space – from the planet Saturn, characterised by its clearly visible ring.
Trooper Saturn in 500ml cans is sold in the Rohlik.cz online shop (currently high demand). It will also be available on tap – in selected bars, restaurants and at metal and rock music festivals throughout the Czech Republic. Iron Maiden fans were able to enjoy the beer last week at Eddie’s Dive Bar & Fan Zone in Prague’s Riegrovy Sady. Now, fans and beer lovers can enjoy the rock-inspired lager fresh on tap at the Energy Pub Riegrovy Sady beer garden.
