Music, cuisine, and creativity from around the world await visitors this Tuesday at the Slyším Vidím Chutnám Svět festival in Ládví. An intercultural experience for the whole family – free of charge and under the open sky!
Around the world in just one day – impossible? Not in Prague!
On Tuesday, 17 June 2025, the square in front of the Ládví Cultural Centre in Prague 8 will be transformed into a lively kaleidoscope of international cultures. The intercultural festival day Slyším Vidím Chutnám Svět (“I Hear, See, Taste the World”) invites visitors to discover global flavours, rhythms, and customs – no passport required.

What may sound like a culinary market day quickly reveals itself to be a full-scale cultural event. Artists from diverse backgrounds and artistic styles will take to the stage in turn: the rousing brass band Cirkus Problem, the spirited Latin ensemble Pragasón, the atmospheric Joyful from the region, the authentic Mexican group Mariachi Azteca de Praga, the Ukrainian children’s choir Friends School, and last but not least, DJ Gruu – who blends global sounds into a danceable mix – all promise a musical journey around the globe.
Families with children will also be well catered for: from henna painting and artistic braiding to interactive street theatre, there’s no shortage of hands-on fun. A variety of non-profit organisations will offer creative games and workshops. Particularly commendable is the contribution of pupils from the Perrott Hill British School Prague, who invite visitors to join in and marvel at their lovingly designed country displays.
A highlight of this year’s festival is undoubtedly the themed section Vietnam Through Czech Eyes – featuring an interactive food workshop where visitors can try their hand at rolling Vietnamese spring rolls themselves, humorously titled Umotej si svoji rolku (“Roll Your Own Roll”).

And if all these impressions leave you thirsty, don’t miss a stop at Pivovar Ládví Cobolis. Opened in 2018 in the newly redesigned cultural centre, this microbrewery combines industrial charm with a cosy wooden interior. Known for its distinctive beers and welcoming atmosphere, it’s a true insider’s tip for beer lovers.
