Red Bull Kolo Molo Is Just Around the Corner: Get ready for the Craziest Bike Race of the Year

What to Expect This Saturday at the Race in Port7

This Saturday, Prague’s Port7 will host one of the most original races of the year: Red Bull Kolo Molo. Forty teams will compete on a ramp above the Vltava River in homemade single-track vehicles – with creativity, spectacle, and daring all part of the show.

On Saturday, 21 June, Port7 will be transformed into a stage for a truly unique spectacle: Red Bull Kolo Molo – a competition featuring homemade single-track vehicles unlike anything the Czech Republic has seen before. Participants will race along a narrow track suspended above the Vltava, with points awarded not just for speed, but also for creativity, costumes, and showmanship. Here’s a preview of what spectators can look forward to – and why it’s worth attending in person.

Homemade Vehicles and a Track That Doesn’t Forgive Mistakes

A total of 40 two-person teams from across the Czech Republic have registered. The only requirement: a homemade, single-track vehicle – typically a tandem bike – which both team members must navigate over a challenging course. The track runs on a platform above the water and is dotted with obstacles reminiscent of typical Czech roads: speed bumps, stairs, potholes, and warning signs. The goal? To ring a bell at the end of the ramp – but reaching it demands everything the teams have.

    Creativity, Engineering and Showmanship Count

Judging is based on multiple categories. The jury considers not only the time, but also the ingenuity of each vehicle’s construction, the team’s performance, and their overall presentation. Even those who don’t complete the course earn points – depending on how far they get. Each judge scores per category, with the final ranking determined by the total points. One thing is certain: only those who actually reach the finish line can win.

Star-Studded Jury with a View of the Vltava

An eight-member jury will evaluate the race – made up of four sports stars and four well-known figures from the Czech online scene. Two members from each group form a rotating team of four, judging directly from a pontoon on the river. The jurors, naturally, arrive by boat.

Among them: Olympic kayaker Vavřinec Hradilek, fourcross world champion Tomáš Slavík, mountain biking legend Michal Maroši, and snowboard cross star Eva Adamczyková. Representing the online world are former YouTuber and activist Jiří Král, filmmaker Petr ‘Peca’ Potměšil, presenter and DJ Jakub “Koťák” Kotek, and satirist Jan ‘Lišák’ Liška, known for his sharp takes on current issues.

Guest Stars on Wheels – From Skateboarding to Trials

The supporting programme is equally sporty: professional skateboarder Maxim Habanec will showcase his skills on the course. The multiple Czech champion and Mystic Sk8 Cup winner is also widely known for his video series Skate of Mind. Later, professional trials rider Petr Kraus takes over. The three-time world champion is famous for spectacular stunts in the most unusual places – from the edges of skyscrapers to Prague’s Žižkov TV Tower.

Prominent guests including aerobatic pilot Martin Šonka and snowboarder Jakub Hroneš have also confirmed their attendance. Visitors can enjoy a chill-out zone, a viewing platform, and plenty of food and drink – ensuring everyone gets their money’s worth.
