In recent years, the Napoli City Half Marathon has established itself as one of the most important running events in southern Italy. With thousands of participants and a top international field, the race draws runners from all over Europe each year.
Naples is in top form – both athletically and socially. After its celebrated victory in the Italian football championship, the southern Italian metropolis is already looking ahead to its next highlights: in 2026, Naples will be named European Capital of Sport by ACES Europe, followed in 2027 by the America’s Cup, the world’s most prestigious sailing race. But even now, another sporting event continues to attract international attention year after year – the Napoli City Half Marathon.
Successful 2025 edition with over 7,000 participants
This year’s event saw more than 7,100 runners take to the course. The sports weekend was complemented by the Family Run & Friends, which saw numerous children participate alongside their families.
A special guest was tennis legend Boris Becker, who, in his role as ambassador for Laureus Sport for Good Italia, emphasised the unifying power of sport – echoing Nelson Mandela’s famous quote: “Sport has the power to change the world.” Other social organisations supported the event, which also sent a strong message of community and solidarity.
The Naples course is known for being particularly fast – as demonstrated in the 2023 edition, when around 30 per cent of participants achieved a personal best.

The countdown is on: on Sunday, 22 February 2026, the Napoli City Half Marathon will take place once again. Online registration opens today, Wednesday, 18 June.
