Since mid-June, Prague City Hall has had a new contact point for foreign residents. The contact point in Škodův palác is intended to facilitate communication with the authorities and is operated by the Prague Integration Centre. Support is available in several languages – in person and directly on site.
Since mid-June, there has been a new contact point for foreigners on the ground floor of Škodův palác, Prague City Hall, at counter no. 58: the so-called Contact Point for Foreigners – ICP for short. The service is operated by the Prague Integration Centre (Integrační centrum Praha o.p.s.)
The aim of the new facility is to improve communication between foreign residents and Prague City Hall staff. Contact persons who speak Ukrainian, English and Russian are available on site.
The ICP provides basic information, interpreting services when dealing with authorities, and, on request, personal assistance outside City Hall.
Key services of the new contact point include:
- Initial consultation and referral to relevant departments depending on the issue
- Support and interpreting within the municipal authority, especially at reception or in the post office
- Language assistance when communicating with various departments such as the Education and
- Sports Office, the Transport Office, the Department of Culture and Tourism, or the Health Office
- If necessary, accompaniment to external institutions such as schools, medical facilities or the Employment Office
- Translation of informational materials for various municipal departments
Opening hours (counter no. 58):
Monday: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
With this new contact point, the City of Prague aims to set an example – for better communication, easier access to information and smoother handling of official matters, regardless of your country of origin.
