Grand Prix of Czech Republic 2025: MotoGP celebrates its comeback in Brno

After a five-year hiatus, the premier class of motorcycle racing returns to the Czech Republic

MotoGP is back in the Czech Republic: from 18 to 20 July 2025, the Czech Republic Grand Prix will once again take place at the historic Masaryk Circuit in Brno. Fans can look forward to a spectacular race weekend featuring thrilling action and top international competition.

This marks the long-awaited return of the premier class of motorcycle racing to the legendary Masaryk Ring (Automotodrom Brno). For many fans, it’s the comeback they’ve been waiting for – a chance to once again hear the roar of engines and witness high-speed battles on the iconic 5.4-kilometre track.

Thanks to new organisers and strong support, the return of MotoGP to Brno has been made possible. The track, where legends have been made, will once again welcome the world’s best riders – along with tens of thousands of motorsport fans from home and abroad.

The race weekend will follow the usual format: practice sessions are scheduled for Friday, followed by qualifying on Saturday and an exciting sprint race in the afternoon. The highlight comes on Sunday with the MotoGP Grand Prix. Before the main event, the Moto2 and Moto3 junior categories will traditionally take to the track – including Czech rider Filip Salač, who will compete in Moto2.

The Masaryk Ring, named after the first Czechoslovak president Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk, is considered one of the more demanding circuits on the calendar, with its 14 corners – six left and eight right. The current lap record was set in 2016 by Spanish superstar Marc Márquez with a time of 1:54.596 minutes.

    Tickets and prices

Tickets are still available via the Automotodrom Brno website. Fans can choose between standing areas on the natural embankments and seats on the permanent grandstands. The latter are more expensive and already sold out in some sections. VIP tickets are also available. Those who decide to travel spontaneously can purchase tickets directly on site – either for the entire weekend or just for the race day on Sunday.

Online prices start at CZK 2,790 for adults and CZK 1,490 for young people aged 7 to 14. Children under the age of 6 are admitted free of charge, but must be accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket.

Brno and MotoGP – a long history

Motorcycle racing in Brno has a tradition stretching back decades. The first races were held here as early as 1950, and in 1965 Brno hosted its first round of the Motorcycle World Championship. While the early races were held on a city circuit in western Brno, since 1987 they have taken place on the modern Masaryk Ring (Automotodrom Brno). The return of MotoGP in 2025 continues this proud legacy – once again making Brno the centre of the motorsport world.
