Former AC Sparta Praha stars return to the hallowed turf of Prague’s Letná one last time. At this grand farewell match, fans and players will come together to celebrate unforgettable careers – full of emotion, memories, and legends in Sparta jerseys.
It will be emotional, legendary – and certainly an unforgettable evening: on Saturday, 6 September, distinguished players who once proudly wore the AC Sparta Prague jersey will return to the pitch at the epet ARENA. Many of them have since ended their professional careers – now they want to say goodbye where they made football history: in front of their own fans, on the hallowed turf of Letná.
Entitled The Sparta Farewell, this special match will be more than just a farewell – it will be a tribute to great careers, shared memories, and the unforgettable moments that have shaped Sparta Prague. Two teams will face off: the Sparta Legends Team and Bony Wilfried’s Team – both packed with prominent names and familiar faces.
Sparta Prague Legends Team:
This team is made up of former Sparta Prague professionals who wore the red jersey during their careers and left a lasting mark – whether in Prague or on the international stage. Alongside them: hand-picked companions and teammates from earlier times, with whom they experienced special matches and triumphs.
Bony Wilfried’s Team:
The second squad bears the hallmark of one of the most famous international strikers Sparta has ever had – Bony Wilfried. His team consists of international stars with whom he played over the years at Vitesse, Swansea, Manchester City, and for the Ivory Coast national team.
The first names have already been confirmed:
In addition to Bony Wilfried himself, Marek Matějovský and David Pavelka will also be returning to the pitch at Letná. And that’s just the beginning – many other greats from Sparta Prague’s past and international stars have already confirmed their participation. The names will be announced gradually over the coming weeks.
Kick-off is on Saturday, 6 September, at 4 p.m. at the epet ARENA.
