New Direct Connection to Ireland: Aer Lingus to Fly from Prague to Cork Starting in Autumn

This is the first direct connection from Prague to Ireland's second-largest city since 2008

Aer Lingus is returning to Prague with a new connection: starting at the end of October, the Irish airline will operate direct flights to Cork twice a week. It will be the first time in 17 years that this route has been reinstated.

From 23 October 2025, travellers will once again be able to fly directly from Prague to the south of Ireland: Irish airline Aer Lingus is launching a new scheduled service between Prague and Cork – the first direct connection to Ireland’s second-largest city since 2008.

‘A direct flight to Cork was last on our airport’s flight schedule 17 years ago. We are therefore all the more delighted to be able to offer this attractive destination again from this winter,’ says Jiří Vyskoč, Director of Air Traffic Development at Prague Airport. ‘At the same time, this further strengthens our long-standing partnership with Aer Lingus – the airline has been serving the Prague–Dublin route for 23 years. The new service opens up additional opportunities for Czech travellers to discover Ireland and gives fresh impetus to tourism between our countries.’

The Cork connection will operate on Thursdays and Sundays using an Airbus A320 (174 seats). In addition to the new route, the existing Dublin service will also remain in the winter flight schedule.

Aer Lingus has also expressed its enthusiasm about the route’s return: ‘As Ireland’s national airline, we are delighted to reconnect Cork with Prague during the winter season,’ said Susanne Carberry, Customer Experience Director at Aer Lingus. ‘This route not only offers travellers from Ireland a wonderful opportunity to experience the timeless beauty of Prague, but also provides Czech passengers with convenient access to the highlights of southern Ireland in winter.’

Cork, situated on the two branches of the River Lee, impresses with its Georgian architecture, rich history and cultural attractions. Highlights include the former Cork City Gaol, now a museum, and the Butter Museum, which showcases the city’s historic role in the international butter trade. Art lovers will enjoy the Crawford Art Gallery, while St Fin Barre’s Cathedral (Anglican) and St Mary and St Anne’s Cathedral (Catholic) stand out as architectural landmarks. Those in search of Irish specialities and fresh produce will find what they are looking for at the English Market – one of the oldest covered markets in Europe.

    Flight schedule (local times):

    • Cork – Departure: 13:45 → Prague – Arrival: 17:20
    • Prague – Departure: 18:00 → Cork – Arrival: 19:50

Tickets for the new route are now available on the Aer Lingus website.
