Central European Rally 2025: The Last WRC Spectacle in Central Europe – For Now

This year, fans have the opportunity for the last time for now to experience the WRC in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic

In 2025, the Central European Rally will once again attract the world’s best rally drivers to the tri-country region. However, despite great fan response, it remains unclear whether the event will remain part of the World Rally Championship beyond this year.

The Central European Rally is scheduled to take place from 16–19 October 2025, but it could be the last appearance of the World Rally Championship (WRC) in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic for the time being. As the WRC promoter and the organising CER GmbH have announced, the rally will not be part of the WRC calendar in 2026.

The reason for the suspension is primarily economic conditions that make extending the current agreement impossible. Nevertheless, talks are ongoing about possible formats to enable international top-level rally sport in the tri-country region in the future. A continuation under another classification is conceivable.

For fans, this year’s edition represents a last chance to see the world’s best rally drivers live in Central Europe. Stars such as Sébastien Ogier and Thierry Neuville will compete over 18 special stages covering a total of around 305 kilometres. The start and finish point is Passau, from where the route passes through Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic.
