At the beginning of September, Prague’s market halls will once again transform into a stage for Italian flair. The fourth PIZZA! PIZZA! POP UP Festival is all about crispy pizza, Aperitivo drinks and relaxed hours in the open air – just like an Italian piazza evening.
On Thursday, 4 September 2025, Tržní náměstí at Prague’s market hall (Holešovická Tržnice) will once again turn into a little piece of Italy. For the fourth time, the all-day food festival PIZZA! PIZZA! POP UP invites visitors to savour delicious pizza, enjoy Italian Aperitivo and spend leisurely moments outdoors. From 11 am to 10 pm, the square will be the perfect spot for everyone who wants to experience a taste of Dolce Vita in Prague – from lunchtime right through to sundown.
From lunchtime pizza to evening spritz
The day kicks off with freshly baked pizza, espresso and the first late-summer sunbeams. Those who stay longer can round off the afternoon with a refreshing Aperol Spritz or a glass of Prosecco, relaxing in a deckchair with friends – all in true Italian style. The organisers aim to bring the charm of an Italian piazza evening to Prague: great food, lively conversations and a laid-back atmosphere.
Pizza, Aperitivo and a touch of Italy
The festival is free to attend and features culinary highlights from top pizza makers from all over Prague – from classic varieties to surprising new creations. Complementing the pizza are Aperitifs, Italian wines, sparkling cocktails and cold beer. Italian-inspired music and small extras such as language taster sessions with native speakers or handcrafted jewellery with a Mediterranean touch round off the programme.
“PIZZA! PIZZA! POP UP is more than just a food event. We want to give visitors an experience reminiscent of Italian marketplaces – eating outdoors, having a good chat, enjoying a drink and taking in the special atmosphere,” says Aleš Víšek from the Holešovická Tržnice organising team.
