Central European Rally 2025: Rally Fever in Prague and the Border Triangle

On Opletalova Street, visitors will be able to admire the rally cars up close in mid-October, collect autographs, and with a bit of luck even snap a selfie with their heroes

The Central European Rally 2025 not only brings high-octane thrills to the tri-border region of Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic, but also makes a stop in Prague. Motorsport fans can look forward to a one-of-a-kind spectacle featuring the stars of the WRC.

Although Prague is not listed as an official stage of the Central European Rally (CER) this year, motorsport enthusiasts in the Czech capital are still in for a special treat. On 12 October 2025, the stars of the World Rally Championship (WRC) will make a stop in Prague – bringing a true world championship atmosphere to the city.

On 12 October, visitors on Opletalova Street can admire the cars at close quarters, gather autographs and, with some good fortune, capture a selfie with their idols. The celebrations begin in style: a spectacular parade of teams and cars will proceed from Prague Castle across the Charles Bridge and into the historic city centre.

For rally fans in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic, CER 2025 carries particular significance. It marks the final chance, for the time being, to witness world stars such as Sébastien Ogier and Thierry Neuville live in Central Europe. The reason lies in challenging economic conditions, which prevent an extension of the current agreement with the world championship promoter.

Yet the anticipation remains undimmed. One thing is certain: from 16 to 19 October 2025, the border triangle around Passau will once again become a rally stronghold. Across 18 special stages, covering roughly 305 kilometres, the world’s best drivers will fight for every fraction of a second.

This year’s CER kicks off on Thursday, 16 October, with the Shakedown in Bad Griesbach – the final opportunity for teams to test their cars under competition conditions. The grand finale takes place on Sunday in Passau – four days packed with adrenaline, action and rally excitement are guaranteed.
