The Ball der Österreicher 2026 will once again bring Viennese elegance to Prague in January. At the magnificent Palais Žofín, guests can look forward to a glittering night full of dance, music, and culinary Viennese specialities.
The Ball der Österreicher (Austrian Ball) continues the rich tradition of Viennese ball culture and brings a touch of Austrian ball flair to Prague every year. It marks the highlight of the Prague ball season and will take place on 23 January 2026 at the splendid Palais Žofín on the Slavic Island (Slovanský ostrov).
The ball is a traditional meeting point for figures from politics, business, and culture, while also being attractive to young dancers. Each year it brings a piece of Viennese ball flair to Prague and is regarded as the highlight of the Prague ball season.
An unforgettable night of dance will be ensured by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, Jan Smigmator with the Josef Hlavsa Orchestra, our dance master Michael Hysek with the traditional midnight quadrille, and the excellent DJ Adam Nedvídek. As a star guest, La Sklerosa – one of the best cover bands in the Czech Republic – will provide a lively atmosphere with popular Czech and international hits. As every year, guests can expect a varied programme – stylish, entertaining, and unforgettable.

In the buffet area on the terrace of the Grand Hall, classic Viennese specialities will be served, from sausages to the famous Wiener schnitzel. In the Champagne Lounge in the Mayor’s Hall, guests can enjoy champagne and tapas; the lounge is connected to a heated gallery terrace. The Viennese Café-Bar completes the offering, providing a charming mix of Viennese coffee-house atmosphere and modern cocktail bar.
