From Yeti to Enyaq: Škoda Auto celebrates four-millionth SUV

SUVs now account for more than half of Škoda’s vehicle deliveries

Škoda Auto has produced its four-millionth SUV, meeting the strong customer demand for this type of vehicle. The brand’s first modern SUV was the Yeti, launched in 2009. Today, with seven model series, Škoda offers the largest SUV portfolio in its history. SUVs now make up around half of Škoda’s total deliveries.

The brand’s first modern SUV was the Yeti, introduced in 2009. The current line-up, the largest in Škoda’s history, comprises seven model series – ranging from the India-built Kylaq and Kushaq, through Kamiq, Karoq and Kodiaq, to the all-electric Elroq and Enyaq, including the Enyaq Coupé.

Last week, the Škoda Epiq show car was unveiled. The production version will go into series production next year, alongside another model based on the Vision 7S concept vehicle.

Andreas Dick, Škoda Auto Board Member for Production and Logistics, says: “The success story of Škoda SUVs has reached another milestone – four million vehicles built is clear proof that our broad model range and global production network meet the diverse needs of our customers worldwide.”

Škoda’s current portfolio comprises twelve model series, seven of them in the SUV segment. SUVs now account for more than 55 per cent of the brand’s deliveries. In the first half of this year, SUVs ranked among Škoda’s best-selling models: the Kodiaq came second with 64,800 deliveries, followed by the compact Kamiq with 64,100 units sold in third place.

Some SUVs have only recently entered the market, meaning their full potential is not yet reflected in sales figures. The brand-new, all-electric Elroq has been on the market for less than a year and is already climbing Europe’s EV sales charts. In both April and July it was the continent’s best-selling electric vehicle, and by the end of August more than 100,000 orders had been placed. In total, the carmaker delivered 72,000 all-electric SUVs to customers in Europe in the first half of the year alone.

Škoda is continuing to strengthen its commitment to sustainable mobility, driving forward the electrification of its model range, including SUVs. Next year, the brand will present the series version of the Škoda Epiq – an attractive entry-level crossover with all-electric drive and an affordable price. In 2026, Škoda will also celebrate the world premiere of its flagship electric SUV – a model for up to seven passengers, based on the Vision 7S concept vehicle.
