Passengers on the Prague Metro should prepare for disruptions this weekend. On Line A, services will be completely suspended between Dejvická and Želivského due to the modernisation of the train protection system.
Today and tomorrow, no trains will run on Line A between Dejvická and Želivského. The reason is the upgrade of the LZA train protection system at the stations Náměstí Míru and Jiřího z Poděbrad.
The closure runs from the start of service on Saturday, 27 September 2025, until the end of service on Sunday, 28 September. During this time, Prague Public Transit Company will operate a replacement tram service: special tram line XA will run from Nádraží Podbaba via the city centre to Nové Strašnice. In addition, tram line 26 will be reinforced with extra services between Dědina and Staré Strašnice/Radošovická, running twice as often as usual at weekends. Line 18 will also be diverted and will temporarily terminate at Červený vrch.
For trips to and from Václav Havel Airport, passengers are advised to use bus line 100 from Zličín metro station (Line B).
This weekend’s works mark the completion of a three-year modernisation project. Since October 2022, all stations along the section from Depo Hostivař to Hradčanská have gradually been upgraded with the new protection system.
