The Škoda Museum in Mladá Boleslav will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2025. Since 1995, it has been showcasing the history of the brand, historic vehicles and special exhibitions, and has now welcomed over four million visitors from all over the world.
This year, the Škoda Museum in Mladá Boleslav celebrates its 30th anniversary. Since opening in 1995, it has not only welcomed more than four million visitors, but also brought the history of the Škoda brand to life – from historic vehicles and special themed exhibitions to educational and cultural events. The museum has thus enriched cultural life not only in Mladá Boleslav, but throughout the entire region.

Founded on the occasion of Škoda Auto’s 100th anniversary, the museum is located in a historic industrial building from the early 20th century, which was originally used for the production of bicycles, motorcycles, engines and cars. It is situated on Václav Klement Street, which leads directly to Škoda’s main factory.
Extensive modernisation in 2012 gave the museum its current appearance. With an exhibition area of 1,800 m², it presents three areas: Tradition, Evolution and Precision. The exhibition is complemented by a depot for sports cars and prototypes, the Laurin & Klement Forum, a café and restaurant, and a souvenir shop. A total of around 50 cars, five motorcycles and two bicycles are on display, and there are also 23 studies, prototypes and racing cars in the depot.

Since 2018, the exhibition has also included a historic aircraft engine, the L&K–Lorraine-Dietrich 450 from 1926. In cooperation with the National Technical Museum in Prague, it commemorates the aviation history of the Laurin & Klement brand.
Over three decades, the Škoda Museum has developed into a cultural centre – far beyond the city limits. In addition to permanent and special exhibitions, the museum regularly organises cultural and educational programmes for children and adults and participates in local and national events, including the popular ‘Long Night of Museums’.

Special exhibits and themed special exhibitions
The museum regularly supplements its permanent exhibitions with special exhibitions that often present concepts, studies or student projects shortly after their world premiere. In recent years, these have included the new Superb generation alongside all its predecessor models, the Škoda Popular and Rapid, 60 years of the Škoda 1000 MB, exhibitions on sustainability and ecology, and 50 years of RS models.

Double anniversaries: 30 years of the museum, 130 years of Škoda
The celebrations for the 30th anniversary of the Škoda Museum coincide with the 130th anniversary of Škoda Auto – one of the oldest continuously producing car brands in the world. A special exhibition marking this significant anniversary will be on display until the end of the year.
