Second win in a row: Prague Airport impresses at Routes World 2025

For the fourth time in its history, Prague Airport has won the Routes World Award

Prague Airport has once again received international recognition: for the second time in a row, it has been awarded the prestigious Routes World Award. The jury particularly praised the successful development of new flight connections and the close cooperation with airlines.

For the second time in a row, Prague Airport has been honoured with the prestigious Routes World Award. In the category for airports with ten to twenty million passengers a year, it prevailed this year against strong competition from Edinburgh, Calgary, Indianapolis and San Antonio. The award was decided by representatives of international airlines, who primarily evaluated the development of new flight connections, marketing support and cooperation with airlines.

‘Winning this prestigious award for the second time in a row is an extraordinary success and a clear signal of international recognition for our work,’ said Jiří Vyskoč, Managing Director for Aviation Development at Prague Airport.

This is the fourth time in its history that Prague Airport has received the Routes World Award. This year, the jury particularly praised the airport’s marketing activities aimed at business partners and the public. The close coordination with airlines in day-to-day operations, the use of data analysis for route expansion and the continuous development of long-term relationships were also rated positively.

This year Prague Airport added 18 new destinations to its flight schedule, including six long-haul connections to Toronto, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Beirut, Marrakesh and a charter service to the Maldives. Capacity was further increased on a total of 88 routes through more frequent flights or larger aircraft.

The award ceremony took place during the international industry meeting Routes World 2025, which was held in Hong Kong from 24 to 26 September. Every year, airports, airlines and tourism organisations come together there to discuss the future of aviation.
