The Czech Pavilion at Expo 2025 celebrated its 1.5 millionth visitor. Over the past six months, more than 28 million people have streamed onto the site – a record for the World Expo.
Four days before the official end of Expo 2025 Osaka, the Czech Pavilion welcomed its 1.5 millionth visitor. On Friday, 10 October, a three-year-old Japanese boy, together with his mother, was the milestone guest. The gates of the World Expo close today, Monday, 13 October – in the past six months, more than 28 million visitors have attended the site.
The Czech Pavilion received between 12,000 and 14,000 visitors daily, while numbers across the entire Expo site reached up to 240,000. The pavilion proved particularly popular with Japanese visitors: up to 95 per cent of visitors were from Japan, and in recent weeks all time slots for the pavilion were fully booked.

The 1.5 million visitor mark was reached just six weeks after passing the one million milestone on 2 September 2025. On 8 October, a single-day record was also set for the entire Expo site: 237,000 visitors attended on that day.
Ondřej Soška, General Commissioner of the Czech participation at Expo 2025, described the visitor interest as “an enormous success and a great motivation. The Czech Pavilion is a meeting place for people from all over the world, where culture, creativity, and innovation come together. The interest from visitors and professionals shows that our participation at Expo 2025 makes sense and delivers tangible results.”

The Czech Republic participated as an independent state at a World Expo for the sixth time. The pavilion’s design, in the shape of a glass spiral, came from an open architectural competition, won in March 2023 by Studio Apropos Architects. On the culinary side, dumplings accompanied by freshly tapped Pilsner Urquell (Plzeňský Prazdroj) were the main focus.
