The Fairmont Golden Prague was awarded two MICHELIN Keys just a few months after its reopening. The new Keys are considered the equivalent of stars – a symbol of outstanding quality, style, and hospitality in the international hotel world.
The Fairmont Golden Prague Hotel, newly opened earlier this year, can already celebrate its first award and is making history at the same time: as the first and so far only hotel in the Czech Republic, it has been awarded two MICHELIN Keys – a new accolade from the legendary MICHELIN Guide Hotel Selection, which recognises the best hotels worldwide.
For over a century, MICHELIN stars have stood for culinary excellence. The Guide has now extended its rating system to the field of hospitality. MICHELIN Keys are regarded as the equivalent of stars – a symbol of outstanding quality, style, and hospitality in the international hotel world.

The MICHELIN Keys are awarded based on five criteria: architecture and design, quality and consistency of service, character and personality of the hotel, value for money, and integration into the local culture. Introduced in April 2024, the award recognises hotels with one, two, or three Keys.
About the Fairmont Golden Prague, the Guide writes: High above the Vltava, in one of Prague’s best-known buildings, the hotel opens a new, bold chapter for a modernist landmark. Once esteemed as a work of art in its own right, the hotel now houses one of the country’s most significant private collections of Czech art and film. Hand-blown glass, sculpted wood, and gilded features run throughout the interiors, while six dining venues – including the rooftop Zlata Praha – offer varied views of the city. Here, nostalgia and tradition are reinterpreted in a contemporary way.
“I am very proud of this award – just a few months after reopening. A great success, made possible only thanks to the strong and dedicated team,” says Gerhard Struger, General Manager of the Fairmont Golden Prague.

Following an extensive renovation, the Fairmont Golden Prague celebrated its reopening in mid-April. The iconic building on the banks of the Vltava now shines in new splendour – with stylish design, timeless art, and a touch of Czech tradition.
In addition to the Fairmont Golden Prague Hotel with two Keys, there are ten other hotels in the Czech Republic with one MICHELIN Key each, including the Andaz Prague, the Four Seasons Hotel Prague, Château Mcely in Mcely,or the Hotel Perk in Šumperk.
