The Czech capital Prague is currently experiencing increasing tourist interest and is among the most visited and popular cities in Europe. According to experts and visitors themselves, the main reason for this is the high level of safety that Prague offers compared to other metropolises.
According to the latest data from Numbeo, a portal that compares the safety level of cities around the world based on user ratings, Prague has long been one of the safest European capitals. In 2025, the city achieved a safety index of 75.4 (out of 100), outperforming for example Vienna (72.1), Berlin (59.3), Paris (47.8) and Rome (45.2).
In Central Europe, Prague is leading and confirms its status as a city where people feel safe not only during the day but also at night. Important factors include the stable political situation, low violent crime and the efficient work of the municipal and state police.
Hotels are seeing increasing interest. “In recent months we have noticed a rise in demand, especially from German guests.
