Prague’s Národní třída once again becomes a centre of culture, dialogue, and social exchange: the association Díky, že můžem invites the public to a festival under the motto “We Have Something to Say”, featuring a record number of discussions and exhibitions. Thematic focuses include current societal issues as well as two significant anniversaries.
For the twelfth time, the association Díky, že můžem transforms Prague’s Národní třída into a vibrant festival of social and cultural life. Under this year’s motto “We Have Something to Say” (Máme si co říct), visitors can expect an extensive programme of discussions and exhibitions. In total, 118 events address current topics as well as two significant anniversaries: 75 years since the judicial murder of Milada Horáková and the death of the priest Josef Toufar.
Musical highlights include a performance of the Czech national anthem by the Slovak musician Mário Bihári and, traditionally at 17:11, the Prayer for Marta (Modlitba pro Martu), this year performed by Jan Cina.

Dialogue and Democracy at the Centre
The guiding theme “We Have Something to Say” (Máme si co říct) emphasises the importance of dialogue and civic participation – even in a post-electoral phase, stresses Bára Stárek, Director of Díky, že můžem: “Democracy does not end behind the curtain of the polling station; it requires our active involvement. Even though every electoral period brings its tensions, this year we particularly see the need to emphasise dialogue, mutual respect, and listening.”
Ester Valtrová, Programme Director of Korzo, highlights the historical references: “Our programme recalls central events from the time of the communist regime and the values brought by the Velvet Revolution. This year we also commemorate two important anniversaries: 75 years since the judicial murder of Milada Horáková and the death of the priest Josef Toufar.”

Record Number of Discussions and Podcasts
For the first time, Korzo Národní offers 26 discussion rounds – more than ever before. Visitors can follow live shows of well-known Czech podcasts. The debates are complemented by journalistic and thematic formats.
Families are offered a diverse programme: children can explore Cesta po stopách 17. listopadu, relive past events in interactive history lessons, or discover digital everyday life in the podcast Děti se ptají. Creative workshops and scouting activities complete the offer.

Week of Freedom: Týden svobody
The celebrations on Národní třída are preceded by the Week of Freedom (Týden svobody) from 11 to 17 November, in which around 40 organisations in Prague and the regions participate. In total, over 130 cultural and educational events on freedom, democracy, and current societal challenges take place across the Czech Republic.
The full programme is available on the official Korzo Národní website: www.korzonarodni.cz.
