Prague Christmas Markets 2025: All Dates at a Glance
The largest Christmas markets in Prague can be found, as always, at the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square
Christmas markets (Vánoční trhy) are an important part of the festive magic in the Czech Republic, and the Prague markets are among the most beautiful in the country.
The first Christmas market of the year in Prague has been open since Thursday, 20 November, at Náměstí Míru. The market is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00 until Catholic Christmas Eve (24 December). The opening of all other Christmas markets will follow gradually over the course of November.
The largest Christmas markets in Prague – Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí) and Wenceslas Square – open on Saturday, 29 November. Due to traditionally high tourist demand, they will remain open for longer, until 6 January of the new year.

A market away from hectic of the city
A market slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the city can be found at the Advent Market at Holešovická Tržnice. From 27 November to 22 December, visitors will find an atmospheric Christmas market next to Hall 22, with around ten stalls offering original handicrafts and gift items. The market also has plenty to offer in terms of food: mulled wine and hot apple juice warm visitors from within, and the scent of roasted chestnuts fills the air. The offer is complemented by food trucks with seasonal specialities, hot drinks and soups.

Traditionally, you will find goods such as jewellery, wooden toys, ceramic decorations, crystals and more at the Prague Christmas markets. Food stalls offer grilled meat or sausages; treat yourself to apple strudel, gingerbread, biscuits or roasted almonds.

If you’re choosing a hot drink, you can pick from mead (Medovina), mulled wine (Svařák), hot chocolate (horká čokoláda), or grog – a mix of rum, water, lemon, and sugar. There’s something to warm you from the inside and get you into the festive spirit on a cold winter’s day.
