After around eleven months of construction, Pankrác Metro Station on Line C will resume regular service before the holidays. The modernisation included, among other things, new interchange routes to the new Line D, as well as the replacement of escalators and the lift.
Pankrác Metro Station on Prague’s Line C will reopen for regular service on Friday, 19 December, at 14:00. This was announced on X by the city transport operator and the Deputy Mayor for Transport, Zdeněk Hřib. The reopening will thus take place 17 days earlier than originally scheduled.

“The first train will stop precisely at 14:00 and open its doors for passengers,” Hřib stated. He also emphasised that while modernisation work in the station’s technical rooms will continue, it will no longer affect daily operations.
The extensive refurbishment of the station was closely linked to the construction of the new Metro Line D. According to the transport operator, the new interchange routes to Line D have been completed, as well as the replacement of escalators and the lift.

Českomoravská Station to Reopen in March – in Time for the 2026 Figure Skating World Championships
In parallel with Pankrác, Českomoravská Station on Line B was also closed at the beginning of the year for a comprehensive modernisation. There, escalators, pipelines and technical systems are to be replaced, and lifts installed. According to the Prague transport operator, some of the station’s load-bearing structures were in significantly worse condition than expected. This required additional measures, causing a delay in the construction schedule. The current plan is for Českomoravská Station to reopen before 25 March next year – in time for the start of the 2026 Figure Skating World Championships at the nearby O2 Arena.
