An evening that unites cinema and concert: The Universe of John Williams returns to Prague and brings the most unforgettable film melodies to life in spectacular form at the O2 Universum at the end of December.
The magical sonic universe of John Williams is coming to Prague once again at the end of the year. Following its acclaimed premiere last year, the O2 Universum will once again become the stage for the most famous melodies of the legendary film composer on 29 December 2025.
The concert show presents, in an exclusive orchestral arrangement, the works that made Williams famous worldwide – from Indiana Jones and Harry Potter to the epic sound worlds of Star Wars. The evening will be conducted by internationally renowned conductor Pete Harrison, who brings the compositions of the five-time Oscar winner to life with an impressive film orchestra and audiovisual effects.

Williams, whose work includes more than one hundred film titles and who, in addition to his five Oscars, received 54 Oscar nominations and 25 Grammy Awards, is considered one of Hollywood’s most influential musicians. During the concert, the audience will not only receive a musical overview of his career but also insights into the creation of his most famous themes – including anecdotes that will surprise even experts.
In Prague, iconic moments of film history will be heard that evening: the majestic Star Wars fanfare, which director George Lucas once called “the soul of the entire saga”, the adventurous sounds of Jurassic Park, or the magical world of Harry Potter, for which Williams wrote the world-famous “Hedwig’s Theme” within a single weekend. The heroic music of Superman and the haunting passages from Saving Private Ryan are also on the programme.

Particularly moving is the main theme from Schindler’s List, which Williams initially declined – saying: “You’re Spielberg, you deserve a better composer.” To which Steven Spielberg replied: “Possibly. But all the better ones are already dead.”
The concert unites the greatest milestones of an exceptional artist whose work has revolutionised film music. An impressive live performance, a powerful choir and a well-crafted lighting design ensure that the best-known melodies in film history shine in a new light.
Tickets for the concert in Prague on 29 December 2025 are available from 1,390 CZK and can be purchased via Ticketportal.
