Historic trams distribute the Peace Light in Prague

The light from Bethlehem is regarded as a symbol of friendship, calm and peace

Shortly before Christmas, a traditional and atmospheric event returns to Prague’s tram tracks. Two historic trams will carry the Peace Light from Bethlehem through various districts of the city, inviting residents and visitors alike to take away a symbol of calm and togetherness.

In cooperation with Prague’s Scouts, two historic trams carrying the so-called Peace Light will be travelling through the Czech capital on Saturday, 20 December 2025. The light from Bethlehem is regarded as a symbol of friendship, calm and peace and has been brought to Prague for many years by Scouts from the Junák – Český skaut organisation.

Both journeys are planned as circular routes. Boarding during the journey is not possible. Those interested can collect the Peace Light at a total of 16 selected stops, where they can light their own candle or lantern.

Another opportunity to take the Peace Light is available in front of the Prague Public Transport Company’s Transport Museum at the Střešovice depot. There, the light will be available for collection on Saturday, 20 December 2025, from 11.30 am to 5.00 pm, and on Sunday, 21 December 2025, from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm.
