On Monday, a festive procession featuring the Three Kings on camels will make its way through Prague’s city centre. The traditional event marks the end of the Christmas season and supports the Caritas Three Kings charity collection (Tříkrálová sbírka).
With an event steeped in tradition and rich in atmosphere, Prague bids farewell to the Christmas season at the beginning of January. On Monday, 5 January 2026, the grand Three Kings Parade will pass through the historic centre of the Czech capital, recalling the biblical journey of the Wise Men from the East to Bethlehem.
The parade is regarded as the most widely attended event of its kind in the Czech Republic. Three Kings on camels, accompanied by drummers and fanfare trumpeters, create an impressive scene that attracts large numbers of spectators every year. At the same time, the event is marked by solidarity: the parade also supports the Three Kings charity collection organised by Caritas, which helps people in difficult life situations.

The event begins at 3.00 pm with a solemn service and the blessing of the carol singers in St Thomas Church in Prague’s Lesser Town. The blessing will be given by Prague Archbishop Jan Graubner and provides the spiritual framework for the events that follow.
At 3.30 pm, the parade sets off. The starting point is the area of the former car park at Malostranské náměstí. From there, the route leads across Charles Bridge and Mariánské náměstí to Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí), led by the Three Kings on camels.
The finale takes place at 4.45 pm on Old Town Square, where the Kings present their gifts at the nativity scene set up there. The musical highlight is a performance of Česká mše vánoční – Hej mistře by Jakub Jan Ryba, which underlines the festive character of the afternoon.
Parade programme on 5 January 2026:
- 3.00 pm – Blessing at St Thomas Church
- 3.30 pm – Start of the Three Kings Parade with camels
- 4.45 pm – Three Kings concert on Old Town Square
The Three Kings Parade combines religious tradition, cultural experience and social commitment, creating a fitting and atmospheric conclusion to the Christmas season in Prague.
