MHD Museum Prague: Historic Trams and Buses in a New Light
A Multimedia Journey Through Prague’s Transport History
After sunset, the Prague MHD Museum Střešovice comes to life: historic trams and trolleybuses are impressively showcased with light and sound effects.
With flickering strobe lights and powerful sound, the Prague Public Transport Company (DPP) has transformed the exhibition rooms of the Museum of Public Transport (MHD) at the Vozovna Střešovice stop into a unique experience. Till Sunday, 18 January 2026, the museum opens daily after sunset to illuminate historic vehicles from the 19th and 20th centuries in a spectacular light and sound show.
Visitors can expect a fascinating insight into the world of historic vehicles, staged in a unique atmosphere. Professional lighting effects turn the old trams into visual highlights, revealing details often hidden during the day. A carefully coordinated soundtrack completes the multimedia experience, bringing history vividly to life.

The exhibition includes four thematic light stations:
The Beginning of the Tram Era
Trolleybus Operations
The Years 1950–1990
The Second World War
Each “light station” combines spoken commentary with subtle music and provides historical information. In addition, the short film O lidech a tramvajích (“About People and Trams” | 1958) is shown, featuring actors such as L. Lipský and J. Hlinomaz.
