The Vienna House Andel's Hotel Prague will in future operate as OREA Hotel Andel’s Prague and is located directly next to the OREA Hotel Angelo, which already belongs to the group. With a total of 453 rooms and 20 conference rooms, a strong duo for business and conference tourism is being created in the dynamically growing Prague district of Anděl.

The Czech investment group Cimex, owner of the largest Czech hotel chain OREA Hotels & Resorts, acquired the four-star Andel’s Hotel Prague at the start of the new year. The seller is the Austrian Vienna Insurance Group (VIG).

The transaction was successfully completed on 7 January 2026. The hotel will operate under the name OREA Hotel Andel’s Prague. It is located in close proximity to the OREA Hotel Angelo, which is already part of the group, creating significant synergies, particularly in the field of conference and business tourism. Both properties will continue to operate independently but will in future appear under the shared OREA brand.

OREA Hotel Andel’s Prague features 290 rooms and 16 conference rooms with a total capacity of up to 645 participants. The neighbouring OREA Hotel Angelo Prague complements the offering with a further 163 rooms, five suites and four conference rooms for up to 288 guests.

“The acquisition of OREA Hotel Andel’s is a strategic investment to strengthen our hotel portfolio in the dynamically growing Prague district of Smíchov. Despite operating independently, both hotels will benefit from the significantly expanded accommodation and conference capacity at this location,” explains Miroslav Kosnar, CEO of the Cimex Group.

The district of Anděl has undergone profound changes in recent years and is increasingly establishing itself as a modern urban quarter with growing importance for business, culture and tourism. New office, residential and commercial projects are shaping the area, making Anděl one of the fastest-developing urban centres in the Czech capital.

The acquisition fits into the long-term development strategy of OREA Hotels & Resorts, which has steadily expanded in recent years both in Prague and in attractive regions of the Czech Republic. The aim is to ensure a uniformly high standard across the network while remaining flexible to the growing demand for conference and experience-based offerings.

The purchase price of the transaction has been kept confidential by the parties involved.
