
First Test Drives on New Prague Trolleybus Route Na Knížecí – U Waltrovky
Based on the results of the test drives, final work on the infrastructure of the new route will continue in the coming weeks

Prague continues to focus on environmentally friendly mobility: the first test drives on the new Na Knížecí – U Waltrovky route were successful, and the new electrified route is scheduled to begin operation in spring 2026.
The expansion of electrified public transport in Prague is progressing further. In addition to new tram lines, the city is increasingly investing in trolleybuses. Prague Public Transport (DPP) has now begun test drives on the current bus route 137.

On Wednesday, 14 January 2026, the first Škoda 24Tr trolleybus completed test and measurement runs on the newly constructed Na Knížecí – U Waltrovky route. Prague Public Transport (DPP) thus successfully carried out the first on-site trolleybus tests.

Based on the results of the test drives, final work on the infrastructure of the new route will continue in the coming weeks. The launch is planned for spring 2026. Afterwards, the existing bus route 137 is to be converted into trolleybus line 52.
