Prague Airport is expanding its digital service offering with the Aviation Assistant (AVA). The new service is now available to passengers as a digital assistant, providing round-the-clock support with flight details, navigation and common enquiries.

Prague Airport has introduced a new digital communication tool for passengers: the Aviation Assistant (AVA) is a digital assistant designed to help travellers find their way around the airport and simplify access to important information. AVA is currently accessible via the messaging service WhatsApp, and during February it will also be connected to Facebook Messenger.

AVA provides up-to-date and reliable flight information around the clock, assists with travel-related questions, and speeds up communication with the airport. Key functions include “Flight Tracking”, “Questions & FAQ”, as well as practical recommendations to ensure a smooth experience at the airport.

“In February, we will expand the functions, for example by enabling communication via Facebook Messenger, linking AVA to another widely used chat platform. In March, we will also launch a service that allows passengers to hand over the conversation to an information desk employee. They will be able to answer questions based on the chat history that AVA could not provide a suitable response to,” explains Eva Krejčí, Communications and Marketing Director at Prague Airport.

Through the “Flight Tracking” function, passengers can receive targeted information about a specific flight and get automatic notifications about relevant changes. These include the opening of the gate and check-in desk, the start of boarding, departure and arrival times, or the assigned baggage belt. AVA replaces the previous SMS notifications and introduces an interactive solution at Václav Havel Airport Prague, where travellers can not only receive information but also specifically ask for details. Communication is possible both via the flight data view and directly through a WhatsApp link.

Another key feature is the “Questions & FAQ” section. Here, AVA answers frequently asked questions about the airport and travel, such as navigating the terminals, parking options, baggage regulations, or the applicable liquid restrictions. In addition, the digital assistant can provide personalised recommendations for services, shops or restaurants at the airport.
