Žižkovský Masopust is celebrating its 31st edition this year and will once again transform the Prague district of Žižkov into a colourful festival area on Saturday.
The traditional Žižkovský Masopust enters its 31st year in 2026. The neighbourhood festival takes place on Saturday, 7 February 2026, and offers an extensive programme featuring a masked parade, theatre, music, crafts, as well as classic Masopust specialities for children and adults.
The masked parade starts at 4.00 pm at Jiřího z Poděbrad Square. The procession will be accompanied by the Lovesong Orchestra. The route leads along Lucemburská, Bořivojova, Ondříčkova and Lupáčova streets to the Prague 3 Town Hall, where the symbolic handover of the key to Žižkov will take place. The parade then continues via Havlíčkovo náměstí and along Štítného and Husinecká streets, before ending in Radost Park. The finale there includes a theatre performance, the award ceremony for the most imaginative masks, and a concert by the band Trombenik.

Masopust also has plenty to offer in culinary terms. A special lager beer from the SQBRU brewery will be served. New this year is a children’s lemonade from Chmelbucha, available in raspberry and strawberry–mint flavours.
