The Czech Republic continues its upward trend in tourism: in 2025, almost 23.6 million guests visited the country. Foreign visitors in particular are staying longer, contributing to rising overnight stays.

Czechia recorded another successful year for tourism in 2025. Domestic hotels, guesthouses and other accommodation establishments received nearly 23.6 million guests, who booked a total of 59.1 million overnight stays. Both arrivals and overnight stays increased compared with the previous year, for domestic as well as international visitors.

Most international visitors came from neighbouring countries: Germany (2,347,163 guests, -1%), Poland (939,296, +11.9%) and Slovakia (931,856, +3.9%). Visitors from the USA, the United Kingdom and Italy were also well represented. Visits from Israel (+33.4%) and the United Arab Emirates (+30%) grew particularly strongly. Significant increases were also recorded from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Japan, Argentina and China.

"2025 has once again shown that the Czech Republic is among the sought-after European destinations. We are seeing strong interest from abroad alongside a stable demand from domestic guests. Particularly encouraging is that the length of stays is increasing, and the number of overnight stays by foreign visitors is growing faster than their arrivals. Almost 1.3 million additional overnight stays were recorded – the total is approaching the pre-Covid year of 2019," says František Reismüller, Director of CzechTourism.

Above 2019 Levels

2025 confirmed that Czech tourism has not only fully recovered from the pandemic but continues to grow. Compared with 2019, the number of visitors rose by 1.6 million and overnight stays by 2.1 million. The country is thus among the European destinations that have turned the return of travel into long-term growth.

Guest habits are also changing: international visitors are staying longer and prefer higher-quality hotels. While Prague and Brno remain the most popular cities, guests are increasingly being drawn to regions outside the traditional tourist destinations.

Regionally, the number of visitors increased across all Czech regions. Olomouc, South Bohemia and Liberec showed the highest growth. Foreign visitors fell slightly only in Pilsen; in all other regions their numbers increased.
