The number of passengers on Prague’s train services continues to grow. In 2025, an average of 179,000 people per weekday used the trains of the Prague Integrated Transport system (PID – Pražská integrovaná doprava) within the capital. This represents an increase of around 2.5 per cent compared with the previous year. Reasons include a denser service schedule as well as the use of more modern and higher-capacity trains.
Particularly busy are the routes towards Kolín, Benešov u Prahy, Lysá nad Labem and Beroun. Demand also increased in the Central Bohemian Region: there, PID trains carried an average of 202,000 passengers on a weekday – around 1,000 more than in 2024. The number of travellers using integrated PID tickets on suburban train journeys also rose significantly, up 8.4 per cent on the previous year.
Among the busiest routes in 2025 were:
Prague – Úvaly (continuing to Český Brod and Kolín): 44,000 passengers daily
Prague – Říčany (continuing to Benešov u Prahy): 41,000
Prague – Zeleneč (continuing to Lysá nad Labem and Nymburk): 27,000
Prague – Černošice (continuing to Beroun): 25,000

The largest increases were recorded on the connections Prague – Hostivice via Veleslavín (+38 per cent), Prague – Vrané nad Vltavou (+8 per cent), and Prague – Úvaly (+7 per cent). The rise on the route towards Kladno is mainly due to the resumption of services via Bubny to Masarykovo nádraží. On the route to Úvaly, the new S61 line had a positive effect.
Slight declines were observed on all routes departing from Prague-Smíchov station, due to extensive construction work and closures.
