Den Vltavy 2026: Prague to Open the New Navigation Season Next Weekend

Free boat trips, exhibitions and numerous activities on the water: next Sunday Prague will celebrate Den Vltavy 2026 (Day of the Vltava). The event traditionally marks the opening of the new navigation season on the Vltava River.

With the beginning of spring, Den Vltavy 2026 (Day of the Vltava) is also just around the corner. Next Sunday, 22 March, the new navigation season in Prague will be officially opened, and the members of the association Vševltavský spolek have once again prepared an extensive programme this year. Prague ship operators as well as boat and pedal boat rental companies will offer a variety of activities to experience the charm of the Vltava River.

The event is organised by the association Vševltavský spolek, which represents more than fifty organisations and users of the Vltava River. A wide range of activities awaits visitors, including free boat trips on different types of boats, exhibitions, water games and much more.

In addition to the activities on the water, the extensive accompanying programme offers numerous attractions on land along the riverbanks and in various districts of Prague. Museums, galleries and exhibitions will be open to visitors throughout the day.
