Fans of British alternative rock can look forward to a special evening in Prague this autumn. Placebo will perform at the Sportovní hala Fortuna mid November as part of celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of their debut album.
British alternative rock band Placebo will return to Prague this autumn. On 15 November, the group will perform at the Fortuna Sports Hall as part of celebrations marking the 30th anniversary of their influential 1996 debut album.
The concert will also highlight the band’s new project, Placebo RE:CREATED — a reimagined version of the record that first introduced the band to the international music scene. The album is scheduled for release on 19 June 2026 via Elevator Lady Ltd through AWAL.
When Placebo first emerged in the mid-1990s during the height of the Britpop era, the band stood apart from the dominant musical trends of the time. While many British guitar bands focused on nostalgia and national identity, Placebo explored themes such as sexuality, androgyny, addiction and alienation, establishing themselves as one of the most distinctive voices in alternative rock.

With Placebo RE:CREATED, the band revisits the album that defined their early career. The new release features reworked versions of all ten original tracks, along with two bonus songs from the original edition. Among them are the singles “Nancy Boy” and “36 Degrees”, which helped shape the band’s reputation for fearless lyrics and genre-defying sound.
“We think of this record as a director’s cut,” the band said about the project. “We went back to the original master tapes and brought 30 years of playing these songs live back into the record.”
The album was recreated by Brian Molko and Rob Kirwan using the original master tapes and mixed by Adam Noble. The result preserves the spirit of the original recordings while reflecting how the songs have evolved over three decades.
Tickets for the concert on 15 November 2026 at Prague’s Sportovní hala Fortuna are available from 1,400 CZK (plus advance booking fees). The official pre-sale starts on 27 March 2026 at 10:00 via Ticketmaster and Ticketportal.
