The Škoda Museum in Mladá Boleslav is opening another previously hidden part of its collection to the public. With the new exhibition “Odtajněné koncepty”, visitors are given an insight into rare prototypes and design studies from several decades.
The Škoda Museum is expanding its offering for visitors with another exhibition that provides a special behind-the-scenes look at automotive history. With the new hall “Odtajněné koncepty” (Declassified Concepts), the manufacturer is making numerous studies and prototypes, previously not shown to the public, accessible for the first time.
A total of 31 concept vehicles, design studies and prototypes from the late 1950s to the present day are on display in the new depository. The exhibition follows on from the first phase “Spící krása” (Sleeping Beauty), which only opened in December 2025. Together, both areas expand the museum’s main exhibition by more than 50 additional exhibits.

The new display is housed in a historic factory hall dating back to 1913, whose industrial atmosphere has been deliberately preserved. Škoda is thus offering visitors a rare look at development stages and design ideas that have shaped the brand’s appearance and technical direction over decades. The modern exhibition concept in a “garage style” ensures an authentic yet contemporary presentation.

The new exhibition area, together with “Spící krása”, forms a separate tour that can only be visited as part of guided tours and with prior reservation. Short descriptions are available for each vehicle, while additional information can be accessed via QR code. As in the main exhibition, a regular rotation of exhibits is also planned here.

The Škoda Museum in Mladá Boleslav documents the company’s 131-year history across around 1,800 square metres – from the first vehicles of the Laurin & Klement brand through to current models and design studies. In addition to historic automobiles, motorsport vehicles, prototypes and motorcycles are also on display. Among the oldest exhibits is a Slavia bicycle dating from 1899.

A visit to the museum can also be combined with a tour of the Škoda plant in Mladá Boleslav or the sites in Vrchlabí and Kvasiny. A trip to the birthplace of Ferdinand Porsche in today’s Liberec-Vratislavice is also an option for those interested in technology and automobiles, for which a discounted combined ticket is available.
