
Generali Prague Half Marathon 2026: Course Record and International Elite Field in Prague
17,000 runners from 117 nations deliver high-class races

In cool but sunny conditions, the Generali Prague Half Marathon 2026 concluded with a new course record and top-class times. 17,000 runners turned Prague’s city centre into an international sporting event of the highest level.
In cool but sunny conditions, the Generali Prague Half Marathon today, 28 March 2026, took place. With temperatures between 6 and 10 degrees, 17,000 participants from 117 nations transformed Prague’s city centre into an international running stage – with impressive performances at the front.
Kwizera triumphs with course record
In the men’s field, Rodrigue Kwizera made a clear statement: the Burundian won in 58:16 minutes, setting a new course record. At the same time, he defended his victory from the previous year and confirmed his outstanding status in Prague.

The race developed into one of the fastest in the history of the event: all three top finishers stayed under the 59-minute mark.

Samwel Chebolei Masai – 00:58:48
Owen Korir Kapkama – 00:58:58
The fastest Czech was Jan Friš with a time of 1:04:55. He was followed by Matěj Zima (1:05:04) and Adam Szymanik (1:05:10).
Close race in the women’s field
The women’s race also delivered a high-quality and close finish. Only 33 seconds separated the top three runners.

Caroline Makandi Gitonga secured victory in a strong 1:06:16. The entire podium finished within just under 40 seconds of each other and all stayed below the 1:07 mark.

The fastest Czech woman was Tereza Hrochová with 1:11:50. She was followed by Michaela Čepová (1:13:07) and Vendula Soukalová (1:14:25).

Prague as a stage for international road running
With a new race record, a new Burundi national record, 16 personal bests, outstanding Czech performances, and a field of 17,000 runners from 117 countries, the 2026 Generali Prague Half Marathon once again confirmed its status as one of Europe’s premier road races.
