With the Dvorecký most, Prague is gaining a new, high-capacity crossing of the Vltava. The opening will be accompanied by an extensive programme of events – before regular operations begin one day later.

On Friday, 17 April, a new infrastructure project will be officially opened in Prague: the Dvorecký most. The new bridge connects the districts of Smíchov and Podolí and is set to play a central role in public transport between the two banks of the Vltava.

The official opening will take place in the area of Žluté lázně in Podolí. From 11:00, visitors can expect an accompanying programme with information about Prague’s public transport system. On site, the mobile customer centre of PID will provide information on connections, fares and the use of the PID Lítačka app.

View of the new bridge from the water

A special highlight of the programme is free ferry rides on the Vltava: between the piers at Lihovar (Smíchov) and Žluté lázně (Podolí), two ferries will operate, offering a direct view of the new bridge from the water. Services will run between 11:00 and 18:30.

Special services across the new Dvorecký bridge

The opening will also be marked on road and rail: in the afternoon, additional services will operate, including special line 28, running at frequent intervals between Smíchovské nádraží and Nádraží Braník, crossing the new bridge.

The programme will be complemented by historic buses – including models such as Ikarus 280.10, Karosa ŠD 11 and Škoda 706 RTO LUX – which will also operate across the new bridge.

New bridge combines art, function and leisure

The new Dvorecký Bridge (Dvorecký most) in Prague will not only serve as a connection between Podolí and Zlíchov for transport users, but will also become a new cultural meeting point in Prague thanks to modern art installations.

Start of regular operations the following day

The Dvorecký most will be opened for daily operations from Saturday, 18 April. Regular tram and bus services will then begin using the new connection, improving links between Prague’s southern districts.
