easyJet is further expanding its offer from Václav Havel Airport Prague and is adding Marrakesh as its first destination outside Europe. The new service will launch at the end of October and will operate twice weekly.

The airline easyJet is continuing to expand its route network from Václav Havel Airport Prague and is adding a new service to Marrakesh to its programme. From 25 October, the route is set to operate twice a week.

According to the airport, the new service will run on Wednesdays and Sundays. It will be the first non-European destination operated by easyJet from Prague. “Our cooperation with easyJet has delivered very good results for years, and we are pleased to see its further development,” said Jaroslav Filip, Director of Aviation Business at Prague Airport. The new route represents an important step in expanding the route network and is expected to strengthen outbound tourism towards North Africa in particular. Strong demand is already anticipated in the first year of operation.

The airline also views the new service as a strategic expansion. “With the route between Prague and Marrakesh, we are offering our customers a new destination for short trips with a cultural focus, as well as access to impressive landscapes beyond the city,” said Thomas Haagensen, Group Markets Director at easyJet. At the same time, the service complements the existing offer of 22 European destinations from Prague.

Marrakesh is one of the most important cities in Morocco and is particularly known for its historic old town, the Medina, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A central attraction is Jemaa el-Fnaa square, with its markets, street performers and traditional food. Other sights include the Majorelle Garden, created by the French artist Jacques Majorelle and later restored by Yves Saint Laurent. The Atlas Mountains also rise nearby and are particularly attractive for hikers and nature lovers.

Tickets for the new service are now available via the easyJet website.
