After around three months of construction work, the popular farmers’ market is returning to Hala 22 of Holešovická tržnice. Visitors can once again buy fresh, regional products directly from producers there.
Following an approximately three-month temporary move to Hall 13, the popular farmers’ market is returning to Hala 22. Visitors can once again come to the familiar location in the heart of Holešovická tržnice and buy fresh products directly from local producers.
The temporary relocation made it possible to carry out necessary maintenance work. This included, among other things, the renewal of electrical installations, new paintwork and further technical adjustments. A comprehensive reconstruction was not planned – rather, the focus was on targeted modernisations intended to make operations safer and more comfortable for traders and customers.

“In Hala 22, we have placed great emphasis for years on creating optimal conditions for sellers and customers. We have significantly improved hygiene standards and invested in modernising the infrastructure, which meets the requirements for handling fresh food. At the same time, safety measures throughout the entire hall have been strengthened,” explains Martina Kleinová from the market hall’s commercial department.

For decades, Hala 22 has been regarded as a key fixture among Prague’s farmers’ markets. In addition to residents from Holešovice and other districts, it also attracts top chefs from renowned Prague restaurants.
The range of products remains broad. Visitors can find fresh fruit and vegetables directly from producers, dairy products, baked goods, spices and herbs, as well as meat, fish and flowers. Small agricultural businesses sell their own products from Monday to Saturday. In the spring season, the selection is expanded to include seedlings, herbs and seasonal specialities.

At weekends, the hall traditionally transforms into a meeting point with an extended range and themed highlights. This is when mushrooms from urban production, organic poultry, free-range eggs and other seasonal products are also available. Traders are not only present for sales but also provide advice on cultivation and preparation.
