The Prague Marathon 2026 has a new title sponsor: with Vodafone joining, the race will be held as the Vodafone Maraton Praha 2026. The focus remains on sport – complemented by new technological elements.
The 31st Prague Marathon will take place over the weekend of 2–3 May 2026. The main race will start at 8.00 am on Sunday, 3 May. With around 11,000 participants, the event is once again one of the largest sporting events in the Czech Republic.
New Name, Familiar Concept
With the new title sponsor, organiser RunCzech builds on a partnership that began in 2025. The cooperation is now set to be further expanded – particularly in the field of technology. The aim is to further develop the running experience for both participants and spectators and to create new interaction opportunities along the course.

However, nothing will change in terms of the sporting core: the marathon remains a highly competitive international race with an elite field and a broad range of participants. At the same time, it will once again serve as the venue for the Czech Marathon Championships as well as the European Police Championships.
Technology Takes Centre Stage
A key component of the new partnership is the stronger integration of digital elements. Plans include special spectator zones along the course, so-called “Cheering Points”, where fans can actively engage with the race.
Via large screens, personal messages will be displayed for the runners – an approach intended to provide additional motivation on key sections of the course. In this way, Vodafone aims to further enhance the shared experience surrounding the marathon.

Marathon Weekend with Extensive Programme
In addition to the main race, the marathon weekend includes numerous accompanying events. These include the dm Family Run, the dm Bambini Run and the Lavazza Active Breakfast Run. In total, more than 5,000 additional participants are expected.
In the run-up to the event, the Marathon Expo will take place from 1 to 2 May at the Křižík Pavilions at the Prague Exhibition Grounds (Výstaviště Praha Holešovice). Exhibitors from the fields of running, nutrition and equipment will be present.

Route Through the Historic Centre
The Prague Marathon has for years been one of the most renowned running events worldwide and holds the Elite Label from World Athletics. The start and finish are traditionally located on Old Town Square. The route runs through the historic centre, across the Charles Bridge and along the Vltava River, offering views of landmarks such as Prague Castle, the National Theatre and the Dancing House.
