Prague 6 will once again host the popular Reuse Sunday event this weekend. Visitors will have the opportunity to swap clothing, household items, books and sports equipment, have items repaired, and learn more about sustainable consumption and the circular economy.

On Sunday, 14 June 2026, Prague 6 will host the “Reuse neděle na šestce” event for the fourth time. The swap and sustainability event will take place from 11:00 to 17:00 at the farmers’ market site on Vítězné náměstí and will be complemented by an extensive accompanying programme for children and adults.

At the heart of the event is a large swap market where visitors can bring well-preserved household items and exchange them for other goods. Accepted items include clothing, household articles, sports equipment, books, gardening supplies and smaller pieces of furniture. The aim of the event is to extend the useful life of functional items while helping to reduce waste.

“Reuse Sunday shows that second-hand items still have value – they simply need to be given a new chance. Bring along what you no longer need at home and take away something that brings you joy. At the same time, you are contributing to the environment and the community,” said Petr Palacký, Prague 6 Councillor for the Environment and Climate.

In addition to the swap market, visitors can take advantage of a repair workshop where small electrical and household appliances will be inspected by an experienced technician and, where possible, repaired on the spot. The DDM Praha 6 leisure and youth centre will also offer a workshop on weaving with textile offcuts.

Several organisations and projects focused on sustainability, the circular economy and waste reduction will also be present. Participants include Reuse pokojíček, Bieno, Dobrodějna, Paluba, Metrofarm and the Vypich adventure playground.

Throughout the event, information sessions will be held on topics such as sustainable consumption, resource conservation and the circular economy. Food and refreshments will be available, with drinks served in reusable cups.

The swap market is organised by the Swap Prague team. Items brought by visitors will be sorted on site and prepared for further use. Any items that are not exchanged will subsequently be donated to social and charitable organisations.

Those wishing to continue embracing the idea of reuse after Reuse Sunday can make use of Prague’s Reuse Points throughout the year. These facilities allow people to donate well-preserved items or take them free of charge. Prague now has twelve such collection points as well as three specialised reuse centres. Further information is available on the reuse.praha.eu platform.
